Dowry system paragraph for class 10 and ssc
The dowry system is a harmful social practice in Bangladesh that continues to affect many families, especially in rural areas. It refers to the giving of money, property, or valuable gifts by the bride’s family to the groom’s family during marriage. This practice places a heavy financial burden on the bride’s parents and often leads to domestic violence, broken families, and even deaths when the demanded dowry is not fulfilled. Although the government has laws against dowry, enforcement is often weak, and social pressure keeps the system alive. Educating people, especially in rural areas, and raising awareness about the negative impacts of dowry are crucial steps to eliminate this outdated custom. Empowering women through education and financial independence can also play a vital role in ending the dowry system in Bangladesh.

Dowry system paragraph for HSC
Dowry is an unexpected tradition in our society. Like other evils in society, it is a curse. Currently, it is used in educated and uneducated families. Guards bought their daughters-in-law by donating money, jewelry, and furniture. The lure of money and possessions is a major factor in borrowing. Most husbands think that it is their right to have money and property when they get married because they have a negative attitude towards women. Grooms think that since they are providing women with everything, they should pay for the establishment of their husbands. This vicious practice has a profound effect on our community. It creates anxiety in the minds of caregivers with daughters who are about to get married. Many times in the newspaper, we read about the great suffering that women have to face because of non-payment of lobola. As a vigilant citizen, I strongly oppose this plan. It should be completed as soon as possible. We need to raise awareness about its negative impact on society.Women should be aware of their dignity and rights. They should be educated and given to their families as much as possible. If this is done, this public curse can be completed.
